This weeks ‘Amped artist of the week’ is American hard rock band SoulSwitch. Their song ‘Transmission’s Lost’ can be heard below.
It seems SoulSwitch are destined for big things. Their bruising riffs, blazing solos, honest lyrics, and massive hooks give the Orlando based quintet an immediately arena-ready sound.
After forming in 2006, the band spent a full year refining their sound before bursting out onto the scene in 2007. Hard-hitting performances with Sevendust and Papa Roach saw them become one of the most respected and sought-after bands in the area.
In more recent times SoulSwitch has delivered several gob smacking shows alongside the likes of Korn, Five Finger Death Punch and Kid Rock, which has done nothing but increase their rapidly growing legion of loyal followers. And all this has been achieved without the release of a full-length album.
To date, SoulSwitch has just one major release to their name; a crushing six-song EP titled ‘As It Seems.’ The EP is filled with so much potential that it is impossible not to get excited about what the future holds for SoulSwitch. Producer Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette [Chevelle, Alter Bridge] worked with the band over two sessions in 2010 and 2011 where he masterfully captured their sound. “He’s a great producer. He harnessed what was inside of us and really brought it out. It was an amazing experience and we really found our sound,” says co-founding member and guitarist Jimmy Kwong.
Kwong says that ultimately SoulSwitch is about building connections. “I hope fans have a personal connection with the music and the lyrics,” he says. “I want them to feel connected to the music. That’s how we feel when we play live. By the end of the show, they’re like family.”

i can not believe it took as long as it did for them to get signed. record producers need to stop watching idol and start watching local
Not bad, never heard of them before sounds like a great band
If this band were a potato, that would be one mighty fine potato.
