Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto recently took some time out to give All Axess its first ever exclusive bass lesson. Armed with his B.C. Rich Signature Warlock 5-string bass, Gregoletto demonstrated how to play the epic title track from Trivium’s latest album ‘In Waves.’ The video can be found below.
While Gregoletto may have crafted ‘In Waves’ thumping main bass line using only two notes, it is by no means easy to play. The song’s precision timing and subtle nuances ensure that even the most experienced of players will take some time in perfecting it.
“I’ve seen a lot of kids getting it pretty close online, so I guess I’ll show you how to do it,” Gregoletto said. “I definitely suggest playing to a click track, it will definitely help you with all the stoppy parts.” He added, “It’s really important to play it really clean and really hard.”
Meanwhile, Trivium has announced a co-headlining European tour with As I Lay Dying and support acts Caliban and Upon A Burning Body. The first installment of dates has been released and can be found below.
