International music software company IK Multimedia has teamed up with former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Slash to release the AmpliTube Slash, a new app that allows users to create and record tracks using all the legendary guitarist’s signature tones.
The AmpliTube Slash is available in IK Multimedia’s AmpliTube Custom Shop and features models of all the pedals, amplifiers and cabinets used by Slash both in the studio and on the road. Furthermore, the package includes a substantial collection of Slash’s guitar tone preset settings. See below for a full list of the gear featured in the AmpliTube Slash.
Slash says that if not for the app, his latest album ‘Apocalyptic Love’ may never have been written. “My new album, Apocalyptic Love, was entirely written while we were on tour. If we’re not performing’ we’re traveling, so there is little time for creating music. By using my iPhone along with IK’s AmpliTube and iRig, I was able to capture whatever ideas I had swimming in my head, usually around 4 a.m.”
The AmpliTube Custom Shop is a free software package that features guitar tuners, pedalboards, amplifier heads, cabinets, microphones and rack effects. Users of the AmpliTube Custom Shop have a fully integrated multi-track recording studio at the fingertips and also have access to IK Multimedia’s online virtual music store, where products such as the AmpliTube Slash are available for purchase.
