Metal favorites Disturbed have announced the dates and cities they will be visiting on the bands first ever tour of South America.
As the band prepare to take some time off before the onslaught begins, Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan spoke with Rock AAA backstage at Download; “We’re heading back home and taking a few weeks off. Then we headline the Mayhem tour in the States with Godsmack, Megadeth, Machine Head, Trivium and In Flames – a great line up.”
Upon completion of the Mayhem Festival, Disturbed will embark on the South American tour.
“We are playing South America for the first time in late August.” When asked why it was Disturbed’s first time to hit the country the guitarist replied, “ We have never really found the right opportunity to go, or the right timing. This time we made it a priority and really tried to force the issue”
With more the 13 million records sold, Disturbed have become on of the biggest selling metal bands of recent times. Donegan discussed the bands writing process and what he thought was key to Disturbed’s constant ability to release quality, chart-topping albums. ‘If I knew that formula I’d bottle it and sell it. But really I think all it is, is that we trust our gut, we keep the same mentality as when we were a garage band of writing music for ourselves and what moves us in the room. We have just touched on subject matters that I think our fans have found a connection with.”
