Revered guitarist Eric Clapton has announced a U.K. tour in celebration of his 50th anniversary as a professional musician. Dates and venues can be found below.
Clapton will make his way from Birmingham, to Manchester and then London in May next year, bringing with him an ensemble of highly talented musicians, including guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, drummer Steve Jordan, pianist and keyboard player Chris Stainton, bassist Willie Weeks and backing vocalists Michelle John and Sharon White.
The shows will mark Clapton’s return to the stage after spending 2012 in the studio working on a new album, which is set for a tentative release date in early 2013.
Clapton is one of the most influential and recognized guitarist of all time. His impeccable talent has seen him amass an impressive list of accolades, including being ranked as the second greatest guitarist ever by Rolling Stone magazine. He remains the only person to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times: once as a solo artist, once as part of The Yardbirds, and once as part of Cream.
Tickets to Clapton’s 50th anniversary tour go on sale Friday, September 21st, with an EC Access Fan Club pre-sale beginning Wednesday, September 19th.
