An armless 18-year-old guitarist named George Dennehy from Ashland, Virginia has posted an inspirational video of his cover of the Goo Goo Dolls song ‘Iris.’ Check it out in the clip below.
Dennehy was born without arms, but has the guitar playing ability of a professional. The remarkable musician uses his feet not only to play guitar, but also to eat, type and wash his hair. According to Reddit, Dennehy is primarily right-footed.
The below footage was taken during Dennehy’s set at the recent Ashland Strawberry Faire; Dennehy is a 2012 Strawberry Faire Scholarship recipient. The video was released last month on Youtube, to minimal reception. However, once Dennehy posted it to Reddit, it quickly shot to the front page of the site and has since gone viral.
Dennehy told Reddit that he is adamant he wants to play guitar professionally. “I want it [music] to be my career. I have the opportunity to speak/play at different events or churches, you name it! I’m hoping big things will happen.”
