Iconic metal band Gwar have announced that Jaime Smoot, the widow of late Gwar guitarist Cory ‘Flattus Maximus’ Smoot, has given birth to their firstborn daughter.
Gwar released a statement last night, confirming that both Jaime and baby Corie were in good health. It read as follows: “At 7:00 p.m., baby Corie was born. Mother and child are resting comfortably. She’s a big baby at 8lbs. 1 oz. and is perfectly healthy. There will be pictures soon. The spawn of Flattus crawls the Earth.”
The band also left the following post on Facebook: “Baby Corie is born! Slave Pit welcomes Corie Smoot, daughter of Cory and Jaime Smoot, to Toilet Earth!”
34-year old Smoot was found dead in his bunk on the Gwar tour bus on November 3 last year. His cause of death was determined as being a coronary artery thrombosis, brought about by a pre-existing coronary artery disease. He is sorely missed.
