Former White Stripes guitarist/vocalist Jack White has announced a whirlwind tour of the U.K. and Ireland in support of his debut solo album ‘Blunderbuss,’ which hit stores in April this year.
The announcement was made on White’s official Facebook Page. It read as follows: “Jack is happy to announce new UK & Ireland tour dates this Fall. A limited number of pre-sale tickets will be available to members of the Vault (http://thirdmanrecords.com/vault) 8 am local time on Wednesday, August 22nd. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, August 24th at 9 am local time.”
Meanwhile, legendary performer Tom Jones, who collaborated with White on covers of Frankie Lane’s ‘Jezebel’ and Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘Evil’ earlier this year, has told NME that he now wants to record a full-length album with White: “I was in Nashville at the time so we got together and we did the two songs. I’d love to do an album with Jack White in the future,” he said.
Jones also spoke about how the duo’s previous collaboration came to be: “Jack White had an idea for two songs ‘Evil’ and ‘Jezabel’, which is an old Frankie Lane song and he had a new arrangement for it. So he said to me ‘Do you know these songs?’ and I said ‘Yes, I know both of them,’” Jones explained.
