Legendary shock rocker Alice Cooper has announced that international film star and part-time guitarist Johnny Depp will perform with him during the 12th Annual Christmas Pudding at the Comerica Theater in Phoenix, AZ.
All proceeds from the event will go to ‘Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock,’ which is a nonprofit organization founded by Cooper and dedicated to enriching the lives of teens through music, dance, and self-expression.
The announcement of Depp’s involvement was made on the official Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Facebook page. It read: “Are you ready to rock with Alice on Saturday, December 8th at Comerica Theater? We are excited to announce Alice will be joined this year by international film star and musician JOHNNY DEPP!”
Depp and Cooper will be joined by a number of acclaimed musicians, including Orianthi, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder and L.A. Guns. “…we have a few more surprises to announce this week so stay tuned. It only gets better,” the statement on the Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Facebook page added.
Depp has performed with Cooper and his touring band on two separate occasions in the past: once in London in June 2011 and once earlier this year for the after-party for the “Dark Shadows” premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
The 12th Annual Christmas Pudding will take place on December 8th. Tickets for the show go on sale on October 29th.
Depp has gained acclaim for his portrayals of such people as Ed Wood in Ed Wood, Joseph D. Pistone in Donnie Brasco, Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, George Jung in Blow, and the bank robber John Dillinger in Michael Mann’s Public Enemies.
