In celebration of Halloween, SiriusXM radio has announced that renowned guitarists and avid horror movie fans, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Anthrax’s Scott Ian will be the hosts of ‘Worship Horror Week.’
The duo will be taking over Ozzy Osbourne’s channel, ‘Ozzy’s Boneyard’ as of Friday, October 26th to pay homage to their undying love of zombies, vampires, ghosts, demons and monsters every hour through Halloween. In addition, Hammett and Ian will enhance the mood by playing the music of King Diamond, Helloween, Black Sabbath, KISS, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper and more.
Both Hammett and Ian are long-term fans of horror movies and both are actively involved in promoting the genre. Ian is the host of a horror web-series named ‘Blood & Guts,’ which airs every week on Nerdist.com. Hammett has been a collector of horror memorabilia since he was six years old and recently released a book, titled ‘Too Much Horror Business’ to showcase his impressive collection.
Hammett recently told Loudwire why he thinks the genre is so popular: “They’re just fun. They’re a fun experience. It’s not unlike a roller coaster ride, you know? A good horror movie should have peaks and valleys, a good horror movie should move you emotionally, a good horror movie should be exciting to watch and energizing in a weird kind of way . . . horror movies deliver that.”
