Artist Direct recently asked Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett what he thought were the two ‘Scariest Metallica Songs.’ His answers can be found below.
Hammett said that one of Metallica’s most well-known songs is also one of their scariest: “I think ‘Enter Sandman’ is a pretty scary song when you think about it. ‘Off to Never Never Land’ is dark. “
He also named ‘Call of Ktulu’ from Metallica’s 1984 album ‘Ride the Lightning.’ “In terms of a pure horror soundtrack, I think ‘Call of Ktulu’ is so appropriate,” he said.

Hammett is no stranger to the bizarre and macabre, having been an avid horror movie fan and collector since he was six years old. His impressive collection can now be seen in his new book ‘Too Much Horror Business – The Kirk Hammett Collection,’ which was unleashed on October 1st.
‘Too Much Horror Business’ features over 300 images of Hammett’s trove of horrors, which includes Frankenstein masks, Rodan and Ghidorah models and vintage film posters from ‘The Day of the Triffids,’ ‘The Mummy’ and ‘Blacula.’ Hammett goes in depth with writer Steffan Chirazi throughout the book’s 224-pages, explaining how he built his impressive collection.
