Nine members and crew of the metal band Baroness are recovering in hospital today, following a serious bus accident last night.
Baroness had finished a show at the Fleece in Bristol, England and had started to make their way toward Southampton when, according to witness testimonies, their tour bus overturned and plummeted 30-feet over a viaduct near the city of Bath in England.
Two victims, who were trapped and later freed were seriously injured and taken to the Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. The other seven victims were taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment.
“Our staff assessed all occupants and provided any required treatment before and while en route to hospital,” said a spokesman for the Great Western Ambulance Service.
Due to the seriousness of the crash, Baroness’ scheduled performance tonight at Talking Heads in Southampton has been canceled, with all other dates postponed until further notice.
The following statement was posted to the official Baroness website and Facebook page: “Baroness were in a serious bus accident last night near Bath, England. The band members and crew are recovering at local hospitals. All tour dates are postponed until further notice.”
