Pantera has announced the opening of the UK chapter of ‘Ride For Dime,’ a charitable organization that was created in honor of the late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell.
The band made the announcement via their official Facebook page earlier today (September 4). The statement read as follows: “RIDE FOR DIME is proud to announce, add and welcome Ride For Dime UK into the RFD Family! Please go and “like” this page for future event info and updates and follow on Twitter.”
The statement continued, thanking those who made the opening of Ride For Dime UK possible: “We want to thank our brother Pawel Matuszkiewicz, our UK Chapter Vice President for getting RFD rollin’ across the pond! Cheers!”
Ride For Dime Inc is a charitable organization founded by Dimebag’s closest friends and family, including his brother Vinnie Paul Abbott and long-time girlfriend Rita Haney. The company’s mission is to honor the lives of ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott, Jeff Thompson, Nathan Bray, and Erin Halk by donating to charities based in fields where Dime felt passionate.
To date, Ride For Dime Inc boasts seven chapters in: Texas, Philadelphia, Chicago, Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota and now the UK.
