The official headstone ceremony for late Riot guitarist Mark Reale will be held this Saturday, August 11 at the Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
In January of this year, Reale was in Texas practicing for an upcoming Riot show when he was struck down by a subarachnoid hemorrhage due to complications of Crohn’s disease, an illness he had suffered from for most of his life. Reale was rushed to an Intensive Care Unit in San Fransico where he slipped into a coma. Two weeks later, on January 25, Reale passed away. He was 56 years old.
Riot bassist Don Van Stavern recently posted a picture of Reale’s headstone (see left) on the official Riot Facebook page along with the following message: “Went to visit Mark and took some pix of his headstone (front and back) Marks Official headstone ceremony this Sat, Aug. 11th @ 10am at Holy Cross Cemetary (17501 Nacogdoches Rd) in San Antonio, Texas (behind Rolling Oaks Mall) Public invited…………….Shine On!….DVS”
Mark Reale’s headstone will be laid over his grave in a public ceremony on Saturday, August 11 at the Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, at 10am.
