The Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce has announced that former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash will be honored next month with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Slash will become the first member of a rock band to receive the pavement plaque on July 10, at a ceremony in front of the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard.
“Slash is widely considered one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time,” said Ana Martinez of the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. “We are proud to place his name among the stars on our fabled Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
To commemorate the occasion, Slash will perform an intimate acoustic show and take part in a Q&A session with vocalist for his current solo project, Myles Kennedy at the Hard Rock Cafe. KLOS 95.5 in L.A. will give away tickets to the after-party.
Furthermore, Hard Rock will be selling special, limited-edition pins on the day of the ceremony, with proceeds going towards the Youth Network in L.A., as well as the Hollywood Historic Trust, which is responsible for maintaining the Walk of Fame.
Slash’s latest album, ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ hit stores on May 22.
